Spud Arena weapons guide: main weapons, sidearms, reward weapons and kitchen tools
Each life in Spud Arena starts with one main weapon and two sidearms. All regular weapons are free and can be changed on the results screen between rounds. The figures below are the values used in the game.
Main weapons
| Weapon | Type | Magazine | Damage per hit | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spud Rifle | Rifle | 30 | 20 | Reliable at medium range; the recommended first choice |
| The Masher | Shotgun | 6 | 13 × 8 pellets | Very strong at short range, weak at long range |
| Oven Rifle | Sniper rifle | 5 | 85 | Scope zoom with B; a hit on the sprout eyes knocks out a full-health player |
| Sprout SMG | Submachine gun | 36 | 12 | High rate of fire; suits movement and narrow lanes |
The Oven Rifle has the longest reload time at 2.2 seconds, followed by the Masher at 2 seconds. Reloading behind cover is advisable with both.
Sidearms
The Pocket Spud is a semi-automatic pistol with twelve rounds and 27 damage per hit. Switching to it is faster than reloading a main weapon, which makes it useful when the main weapon runs empty during a fight.
The Potato Peeler is a melee weapon with a quick strike and a stronger strike performed by holding the button. It is effective at very short range, for example on stairs or behind cover.
Reward weapons
In the lobby, a player may choose to watch a short video advertisement in exchange for a heavy weapon for one round. This is optional and never required to play.
The Tater Rocket holds one round with six in reserve. The explosion damages everyone within its radius, including the player who fired it. While carrying it, movement speed is reduced to 86 percent.
The Mash Gatling holds one hundred rounds and needs about a third of a second to spin up before firing. While it is equipped, movement speed is reduced to about 60 percent. It is best used from cover to control a corridor.
Kitchen tools
In Kitchen Clash, guns are not available and each player chooses one of three tools.
| Tool | Character | Quick strike | Strong strike |
|---|---|---|---|
| Potato Peeler | Balanced, longest reach | 35 | 70 |
| Skillet Smack | Heavy and slow | 50 | 90 |
| Chef Cleaver | Fast and short | 28 | 60 |
Related rules
Fried players take twenty percent more damage, so throwing oil before shooting increases the effect of every weapon. A player who stands still for four seconds begins to sprout and becomes visible from a distance; this applies to snipers as well.
