Spud Arena maps overview: all fifteen arenas
Spud Arena currently has fifteen arenas. A different arena loads for each round. The arenas use three visual themes, the cellar, the market and the garden, and come in three sizes.
The original arenas
Root Cellar is a colourful toy cellar with two balconies reached by ladders and a central area where most encounters take place.
Sunny Market has striped market stalls around a raised town square, with a promenade along each side. The health pickup is located in the centre of the square.
Sprout Garden consists of winding lanes between flower beds, with a treehouse terrace on each side of the arena. The terraces offer long lines of sight.
The medium arenas
The nine medium arenas belong to three layout families.
| Family | Arenas | Layout |
|---|---|---|
| Bridge | Butterworks, Berry Junction, Copper Kitchens | A central bridge connects the two halves of the arena, with a lower route underneath |
| Gantry | Bottle Docks, Carrot Depot, Pumpkin Foundry | A long raised walkway runs along one side, with crates and ramps below |
| Switchback | Mint Courtyard, Bubble Laundry, Clover Crossing | Zigzag lanes on two levels with many corners and short sight lines |
Each medium arena has a landmark in its centre, for example a butter block, a kettle or a bubble machine, which helps with orientation.
The large arenas
Saffron Citadel, Rosemary Bazaar and Pepper Village are the largest arenas, with wide courtyards and many accessible rooftops. Mounted guns are placed near the edges of these arenas and can be used by any player.
General notes
Pickups are placed symmetrically in every arena, so each pickup has a counterpart on the opposite side. Ladders lead to balconies and terraces, which offer the best overview but are also the first places other players check. A fresh puddle marks the spot where a player was knocked out moments ago.
Which parts of an arena matter most depends on the game mode: in Patch Control, the positions of points A, B and C; in Mash Match, mainly the ladders and the pickups.
